Program

Day 1:
Cancun
Arrival in the afternoon to Cancun Airport, transfer to Fairfield Cancun Downtown Hotel or similar hotel and lodging.

Day 2:
Cancun - Chichen Itza - Merida
After breakfast, we leave for Chichen Itza to visit the archaeological zone. We will see the imposing monuments of the Mayan capital of Yucatan as the Temple of Kukulkán, the Temple of the Warriors, the game of "La Pelota" and the Well of the Sacrifices. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon departure to Merida and lodging at the hotel La Mision de Fray Diego or similar. Overnight stay.

Day 3:
Mérida - Uxmal - Campeche
Departure to Uxmal with visit to the archaeological zone where we will see the remains of the Mayan city as the Pyramid of the conjecture and the Government Palace. Lunch at a local restaurant. At the end we will continue through Campeche, capital of the state with the same name. Brief visit to the Old City closed and fortified with towers and walls to defend the Colony of pirates. Inside the city you will see the city wall that still preserved a typical colonial flavor with beautiful patrician houses and austere churches. After the visit, lodging at Francis Drake hotel or similar. Overnight stay.

Day 4:
Campeche - Villahermosa
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we leave for Villahermosa, capital of the state of Tabasco. Lunch. In the afternoon visit of the museum park of La Venta, with its colossal Olmec heads. Lodging at Countryard Marriott or similar. Overnight stay.

Day 5:
Villahermosa - San Cristóbal de las Casas
After breakfast, we leave to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, capital of the state of Chiapas, and from there to Chiapa de Corzo. Transfer to the dock by boat and we will descend downstream into the Sumidero Canyon. The altitude and nature of the place contribute to an incredible experience. We will continue towards San Cristó. Overnight at Gran Barrio hotel or similar.

Day 6:
San Cristóbal de las Casas
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit the local market, one of the most typical of the region, where daily hundreds of indigenous people gather to sell their products and crafts. We continue to the church of Santo Domingo in Baroque style, founded in 1547 and then out to visit, the neighboring indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán. The first is very special, because in the church you can observe the coexistence of Christianity and pagan rites, while the natives of Zinacantan are very oriented to Catholicism. Lunch in restaurant and rest of the day free. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7:
San Cristóbal de las Casas - Palenque
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Palenque crossing the beautiful and green mountain range, lunch. Visit to the Agua Azul's waterfalls. Arrival and check in at hotel Chan Kah or similar. In the afternoon, visit the archaeological center of Palenque. At the edge of the tropical jungle emerges one of the most beautiful Mayan ritual centers that ran from the 3rd to 7th centuries AD; Famous temple of the inscriptions in which the grave of the great lord "Pakal" adorned with a mask of jade, a true work of Mayan art was discovered. Lodging at hotel.

Day 8:
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure to visit the majestic site of Calakmul located within the national park, a Mayan biosphere reserve, the largest tropical forest in all of Mexico. Calakmul hosts 86 species of animals, including jaguars, pumas, ocelots, tiger cats, yaguarondi, anteaters, spider monkeys, howler monkeys (4h30 journey). This majestic site, recently emerging from the jungle, has had an incredible influence on the history of the region and the Mayan civilization in general. Lunch. Accommodation and overnight stay in the Chicanná Ecovillage or similar.

Day 9:
Chicanna - Bacalar - Riviera Maya
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit of the archaeological zone of Chicanná and of way stop in the Lagoon of Bacalar. Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon, arrival to the Riviera Maya in the selected hotel (not included). Possibility to add sea extension at the end of the tour.
