Day 1:
CHIANG RAI (Lunch, Dinner)
Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Departure for the outskirts of the city to visit the incredible Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, designed and built by a worldwide famous Thai artist who saw it in a dream and built it at his own expenses. The place is unique, a blend of styles, fantasies and modern art. Return to Chiang Rai and visit to the most important temples of the city: Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Phra Sing.
Return to the hotel. Diner at the hotel.
Day 2:
CHIANG RAI – CHIANG MAI (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Departure to reach Chiang Saen, about one hour North of Chiang Rai, for a cruise on the mighty Mekong river, here marking the border between Thailand and Laos. After the cruise we climb the Golden Triangle viewpoint, to see where the three countries (Myanmar, Laos and Thailand) meet. Then we visit the nearby, very informative Museum of Opium. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Transfer to Chiang Mai via Doi Sakhet, through a picturesque road passing near national parks and wonderful nature typical of the North. Upon arrival we visit the most important temple of the North, the famous Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, perched on top of a hill overlooking Chiang Mai, Transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3:
CHIANG MAI – LAMPANG - SUKHOTHAI (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Departure for Lampang where we visit an elephant training camp. On the way to Sukhothai we visit Wat Phrasri Rattana Mahathai "Chalieng", an ancient temple located outside the archaeological park of Sri Satchanalai. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Arrival at the Historical Park of old Sukhothai, Siam's first capital and today an UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visit Wat Srisawai, Wat Maha Dhat and Wat Sra Sri. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4:
SUKHOTHAI - KANCHANABURI (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Departure for Kanchanaburi. Along the way we stop to visit the Archaeological Park of Kampaengphet, a city that knew its moment of maximum splendor in the 14th century. Within the complex we visit Wat Phra Si Iriyabot and Wat Chang Rob. Lunch in a typical restaurant. On the way to Kanchanburi, we stop at the old Samchuk market in Supanburi, where one can can still feel the authentic atmosphere of a Sino-Thai community of a century ago. Arrival in Kanchanaburi and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5:
KANCHANABURI - BANGKOK (Breakfast, Lunch)
Departure to visit the Hellfire Pass, an historical landmark in the construction of the "Death Railway" where thousands of POW died to build it. Lunch in a typical restaurant. After lunch we board the local train from Tham Krasae station, alongh a small but spectacular part of the "Death Railway", running on a wooden viaduct perched on the side of a mountain. Transfer to Kanchanaburi, the town of the bridge on the river Kwai, whose construction by allied prisoners during World War II was fictionalized in the movie that made it famous worldwide. Transfer to Bangkok.
