Horton Plains National Park is a national park in the central highlands of Sri Lanka that was designated in 1988. It is located at an elevation of 2,100–2,300 m (6,900–7,500 ft) and encompasses montane grassland and cloud forest. It is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. It is also a popular tourist destination and is situated 32 kilometers ( 30 M ) from Nuwara Eliya.
Enjoy an early morning excursion (with packed breakfast), a windswept saddle 2000m above sea level that is home to an interesting array of wildlife. A 10-kilometer moderate walk/hike; takes about 3 hours with some steep inclines. We walk to the well-known local sites of Baker's Falls and World's End - a 3700 ft sheer drop that offers fabulous views of the tea estates below and even as far as the distant coastline
