Day 1:
Phnom Penh (Lunch)
Transfer to the hotel. Lunch in a typical restaurant. We leave to visit the classic part of the Cambodian capital with a visit to the National Museum, which houses the masterpieces of Khmer sculpture and art from the 5th to the 13th century. We pass to the nearby Royal Palace with the Throne Room, where the sovereign still grants his audiences today. The excursion ends by visiting the complex of the Silver Pagoda. Return to the hotel.
Day 2:
Phnom Penh - Siem Reap (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast departure for Siem Reap. It crosses the typical Cambodian landscape, made up of rice fields, palm groves and small villages. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Visit to a unique village of its kind, as it floats on the waters of the great Tonle Sap lake. The fishermen's houses but also the school, the church, the emporiums and the public offices, everything floats and can be moved according to the fishing seasons, which follow the monsoons. Arrival in Siem Reap and transfer to the hotel.
Day 3:
Siem Reap (Breakfast, Lunch)
Visit the fortified citadel of Angkor Thom and the iconic Bayon with its bas-reliefs of enormous realism. Then we move on to the Baphuon, the ancient royal palace with the Phimeanakas, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Afternoon dedicated to visiting Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm. The Angkor complex is the undisputed masterpiece of Khmer architecture and art and has always been a symbol of the Cambodian people. Even more impressive is the Ta Prohm, where huge roots envelop the galleries, shrubs sprout from the roofs of each building and the visitor is no longer able to distinguish the work of man from the creations of nature. Return to the hotel.
Day 4:
Siem Reap (Breakfast, Lunch)
We visit the temples of Prasat Kravan, Banteay Kdei and Srah Srang. One of the oldest sacred buildings in Angkor is the 921 Prasat Kravan, dedicated to the worship of the god Vishnu. We then move on to the temple of Banteay Kdei with the Citadel of the monastic cells. In the final we reach Srah Srang, the public ablution pool. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Visit of the Mebon, Pre Rup, Prah Khan and Neak Pean temples, four important and different locations in terms of style and meaning. The Mebon, built on an artificial islet in the center of the eastern Baray basin, was dedicated to the worship of the god Shiva. The Pre Rup, the grandiose mountain temple, with its warm ocher colors, was used as a royal funeral. The grandiose Buddhist shrine of Prah Khan, surrounded by jungle, was built to celebrate a won war while the enigmatic and evocative sacred basins of Neak Pean, the "intertwined serpents", represent an existing lake in Hindu mythology. Return to the hotel.
Day 5:
Siem Reap - Battambang (Breakfast, Lunch)
You leave Siem Reap heading west on the modern road that cuts through the plains alternating with limestone massifs such as that of Preah Netr Preah from which the precious pink area is drawn, skilfully worked by local artisans. You reach Sisophon and continue south to Battambang. Lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon, we will go into a wonderful rural setting up to Ek Phnom, an evocative Khmer sanctuary from the first half of the 11th century. We then continue with a visit to Phnom Sanpeu to arrive in Battambang at sunset. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Day 6:
Battambang - Phnom Penh (Breakfast, Lunch)
In the morning visit the market and the colonial part of the city. We then continue with the excursion along the left bank of the Stung Sangker up to the hill on which stands the Khmer temple of Phnom Banan, from the end of the 12th century. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Then continue in the direction of Phnom Penh passing through Udong which was the capital of Cambodia from the 17th to the 19th century. Short stop in the village of Kompong Louang where the ancient traditions of silver working still live. Arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon.
Day 7:
Phnom Penh (Breakfast)
Half day visit of Phonm Penh, starting from Tuol Sleng, a high school that was the seat of the political police under the Pol Pot regime. We continue with the sacred hill of Wat Phnom and Wat Ounalom, the pagoda where the great Venerable lives of Buddhist monks. It ends with a visit to the colorful O'Russei market. Transfer to the airport.
