Day 1:
Cancun
Arrival at Cancun International Airport and transfer to the Fairfield Cancun Downtown Hotel or similar. Overnight stay.
Day 2:
Cancun - Chichen Itza - Izamal - Mérida
Breakfast. In the morning departure to Chichen Itza: the biggest Mayan city of Yucatan declared cultural world heritage by UNESCO. Chichen Itza, founded around 400 A.D., was occupied by the Toltec’s in the year 1000 only to be abandoned around 1250. Numerous buildings testify the splendor of Chichen Itza, including the great pyramid called " El Castillo “, the Temple of the Jaguars, the Observatory etc... Lunch. In the afternoon drive to Mérida, with a stop for a visit to the beautiful franciscan monastery in Izamal.
Overnight stay in Mérida at the Mision De Fray Diego hotel or similar.
Day 3:
Mérida - Uxmal – Campeche
Breakfast. In the morning departure for the site of Uxmal wich Chichen Itza with Palenque represents the apogee of the Mayan civilization. The complex, founded and completed between 600 and 950 AD, is full of temples, pyramids and splendid palaces. Lunch. Arrival in Edzná: visit to the beautiful site, especially the Temple of the 5 floors. In the afternoon arrival in Campeche and his city tour.
Overnight stay at the Francis Drake Hotel or similar.
Day 4:
Campeche - Palenque
Departure for Palenque, one of the most important Mayan archaeological sites founded 1500 years ago and mysteriously abandoned at the end of the ninth century. Lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to the ruins , surrounded by a very dense jungle : among the many monuments remind the Temple of Inscriptions , built over a series of pyramids and tomb of the famous King Pakal. Overnight stay at the La Aldea del Halach Huinic hotel or similar..
Day 5:
Palenque - Calakmul - Chicanna
Breakfast. Departure for Calakmul. (4H30 drive). This majestic site, recently emerged from the jungle, has had an incredible influence on the history of the region and Mayan history in general. Free lunch and dinner and overnight stay at the Chicanna Ecovillage Hotel or similar.
Day 6:
Chicanna - Bacalar
Breakfast. Morning departure for Bacalar, a town that witnessed the caste wars located on the banks of the lagoon of the same name, where you will have the opportunity to take a swim, enjoy a kayak excursion or a boat trip (not included) to discover the wild flora and fauna of one of the most beautiful corners of the peninsula.
Overnight stay at Aires Hotel or similar.
Day 7:
Chicanna - Tulum - Riviera Maya
Breakfast. In the morning, free time to discover the Bacalar lagoon and its riches. In the afternoon, departure for the site of Tulum, overlooking the beautiful coastline tha characterises this part of the world. Visit of the site and then departure to the Riviera Maya. Overnight stay at the hotel (not included).
Possibility of adding a sea extension at the end of the tour.
