Program

Day 1:
CHIANG MAI (Lunch)
Arrival in Chiang Mai and transfer to the hotel. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Departure to visit the archaeological site known as Wiang Kum Kam, on the Ping river. This was the first capital built by King Mengrai before he founded Chiang Mai. Visit to a local market and return to the hotel.

Day 2:
CHIANG MAI (Breakfast, Lunch)
Departure to explore the oldest part of Chiang Mai. Visit to the most important temples: Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Sing. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Visit of the handicraft factories and time available for shopping. In the late afternoon we head to the most famous temple in the North, Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, built on a hill overlooking the city. Return to the hotel.

Day 3:
CHIANG MAI - CHIANG RAI (Breakfast, Lunch)
Departure for Chiang Rai via Doi Sakhet. Along the way we visit an elephant training camp to watch a show of these intelligent and majestic animals.
Transfer to a nearby picturesque village, where, among the various hilltribes, we can see the famous long-necked women of the Padaung ethnic group.
Lunch in a typical restaurant. Arrival in Chiang Rai province and visit the incredible Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, designed and built by a worldwide-famous Thai artist who saw it in a dream and built it at his own expenses. The place is unique, a blend of styles, fantasies and modern art.
Arrival in Chiang Rai and visit to the most important temples of the city: Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Phra Sing. Check-in at the hotel.

Day 4:
CHIANG RAI (Breakfast)
Departure to reach Chiang Saen, about one hour North of Chiang Rai, for a cruise on the mighty Mekong river, here marking the border between Thailand and Laos. After the cruise we climb the Golden Triangle viewpoint, to see where the three countries (Myanmar, Laos and Thailand) meet. Then we visit the nearby, very informative Museum of Opium. Return to Chiang Rai and transfer to the airport.
