Program details

The excursion starts at the hotel. Transfer to the Sirirat Hospital, the oldest in Bangkok, where the Medical Museum, a.k.a. the Death Museum, is located. Divided in Pathology, Forensic and Anatomy, in separate but connecting buildings, the museum has an unique collection of exhibits preserved in formaldehyde. Dissected adults, children's bodies born with anomalies, parts of human bodies devoured by cancer, diseases and parasites, and after accidents and murders. Transfer across the river to reach the site of the oldest prison in Bangkok, not far from the Royal Palace. Only a portion of the original building remains, which has been converted into the Bangkok Correction Museum. The exhibits are displayed in the old cells. There are weapons used in the old penal system, instruments of torture, paintings depicting different kinds of executions and realistic reconstructions of life and death in the old prison. As in the Medical Museum, not much is explained in English, therefore a guide is essential. The excursion ends with the transfer back to the hotel.

Note: this excursion is not for the faint-hearted and it is not recommended for children. We start with a pickup at your hotel in Bangkok.
